Join us for hands-on creative activities, led by artist Heena Kim and Tamsin Relly. This workshop invites children to explore shapes and movement with water soluble wax pastels and watercolours to create their own shadow-like paintings!

Having a two-person painting display Speaking Shadows at The Crafted Room, children take inspiration from the works of Heena Kim and Tamsin Relly and make abstract art using the artists’ methods and techniques.

Workshop 1: Taster session with basic exploration of water-based materials and object shadows

Workshop 2: In-depth understanding of the materials with a warm-up activity, followed by the main painting work of object shadows and application on exciting experiments
